Ford Fusion

In these frankly terrifying days of economic peril, car manufacturers are almost entirely reliant on one or two flagship models to carry the slack of the less popular models. The Corsa seems to be marginally holding Vauxhall's head afloat (although current reports suggest it will be unable to hold up the behemoth manufacturer for much longer) and the Golf and Polo seem to be doing the best to rescue Volkswagen from the failing clutches of the Tiguan and Touareg. Ford, as predictable as it seems, are relying on the sales of the new Fiesta and Focus to keep their heads above the rapidly heightening tides of recession. There are, however, excellent car models that get forgotten about in these situations and that is criminal, especially when they are as sporty and versatile as the Ford Fusion.

The Ford Fusion fills the small niche between the Fiesta and the Focus, comprising the sporty performance and maneuverability of the former, with the practicality and responsive handling of the latter. If the Fiesta is the car designed for the young, single boy racers and the Focus is aimed primarily at the family market, then the Fusion lies neatly in the middle; the perfect car for the young, small family.

The Fusion comes with 1.4 or 1.6 litre petrol or diesel engines, which all prove to be up to Ford's impeccably high standards of engineering. The 1.6 petrol proves to be a perfect city car, with impressive revs in the low gears to get you away from the traffic lights before most of the others. It also proves to be a great motorway car, with low engine noise and comfortable seats. With all consideration, the Ford Fusion is an extremely pleasant place to be.

The only question that comes into my mind is whether there is a viable commercial niche for the Ford Fusion . As I have mentioned, the car is directly aimed at small families, but the brand new Fiesta caters for them quite well. As expected the price point is slap-bang between the smaller and larger Fords, so there is a plus point, I just feel I need to point out that I have noticed a certain trend with young, small families; they tend to get bigger. The Ford Fusion with comfortably house you, your better half and 3 young children, or two 8-12 year olds. Any bigger than this and you're going to find the family are going to be a bit squeezed. The Focus doesn't have this problem as it can easily hold 5 grown adults without too much barging of elbows or squabbling over leg room.

It's therefore no surprise that the Fusion isn't doing as well as the Fiesta and Focus on the forecourts up and down the country. This is a shame as it really is a very decent car and far better than most other cars in its £12,000-ish price point. The only problem is that for the same money, you could buy a high spec Fiesta that literally oozes style and performance, or look around for an ex-demo 1.8litre Focus.

Ford unveiled their 2013 model of the Ford Taurus SHO at the pre-New York Auto Show event and made quite a spectacle of it. After building suspense amongst the crowd, the model was uncovered and Ford executives explained the latest and greatest additions to the new SHO. Train, a famous pop artist, then took the stage and rocked the Ford party attendants for an hour worth of hits.

Ford Taurus Super High Output enthusiasts are going to have to wait until spring 2012 to get their hands on the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO, but that won't stop them from salivating over the recent release. The design, technology additions and improvement to performance have kicked the 2013 Taurus SHO up a notch to battle with the large sedan powerhouses.

Ford utilized their resources and tapped into their loyal SHO enthusiasts and forums for guidance on what to put into the latest model to take it to the next level. "Listening to SHO buyers and enthusiasts encouraged us to strengthen the design and the driving quality for the new 2013 model," explained Gordon Platto, Chief Designer at Ford. "For us, this was a clear indication that SHO customers have passionate feelings about aesthetics and design as well as performance."

Ford Fiesta

The new 2011 Ford Fiesta is almost here. The car will be available for purchase in the United States coming in the summer of 2010, however it's already a huge hit on the Internet. The 60-second television ad made its debut on May 18, 2010 during American Idol and two social media programs online have already made this car a star. The hype surrounding the Fiesta is unlike any other, and it's all thanks to the many ad campaigns promoting it. In the center of the massive broadcast, print, and digital ad campaign is the tagline, "It's a pretty big deal."

The introduction of the 2011 Fiesta started with the Fiesta Movement last year. One hundred Fiesta agents spent six months in the plush interior seats, behind the wheel of a Fiesta hoping to show why the Fiesta is better than its competition. The agents completed a variety of monthly missions to show the public why the Fiesta is a car worth having. After driving over a million miles and streaming their experiences, the Fiesta Movement was 4.3 million YouTube views deep, had over 540,000 Flickr views and had more than 3 million Twitter impressions.

The question should be why would you restore a classic car, not can you repair a classic car. You answer your own question, which ever way you say it, and it's very easy to answer.

To answer the question for me at least it goes back to when I first started to drive. The new cars that I learnt to drive in were the mk2 ford escorts lovely cars at the time. But compared to today's cars there is no comparison the cars were basic and no refinement about them, but its what driving is all about.

The first car that I bought was in 1978 it was a Vauxhall viva sl90 and it was all mine and it was the best car on the road well I thought so. What I would give now to find one and restore it why did I ever sell it. Because you don't think a head to when your older and the cars that you owned when you were younger are the cars that you want to have in your garage to take out on a sunny day. That would be so good.

So why would you repair a classic car well for the love of it to bring back your youth as the saying goes they don't make them like they used to well its true, it's like buying a house a lot of people buy a house with character its the same with classic cars you have got to want to do it and have the time to do so when the kids have grown up you can nip into the garage and have some fun. After all who doesn't think about the cars that they grew up with I had the Vauxhalls my mates had fords remember the anglia, escorts, cortina's mk1 &mk2 capri's and whole lot more.If you go to a car show which one stands out. For me its the immaculate classic car not the popular family car after all we are all kids at heart and lets face it who wants to grow up.
